He was constantly there for myself and my family throughout everything. He was an amazing role model to myself and many others. Having served for nearly 50 years as a scout leader and having worked on the development of Concorde, he was a hero to so many people and someone I’ve always admired greatly.
Sadly, on the 12th May, he passed away after a fight with dementia. I didn’t know a great deal about this disease when he was diagnosed, but I wouldn’t wish it upon anyone.
I’ll always remember the stories from his days in the RAF, joking that I was a jinx for Bristol City, his bad jokes which rarely changed and our shared frustration whenever the cameras came out at family events. I’m going to miss him so much and would do anything to spend just one more day with him.
Despite the fact we all couldn’t physically be with him, we were able to be with him until the very end through a video call. He was very peaceful when he passed.
Rest in peace Grandad, thank you for everything. I’ll love and miss you always ❤️
